When Stefan Everts packed Bubba in his pipe

… And smoked him!!

This video is just so good. From the Des Nations 2006, it first shows Everts smoking Stewart during the race and then making some rather funny comments during the press release afterwards when Stewart tries to make excuses by saying he was racing for the team.

This was Stefan Everts’ retirement race and he used it to show why he is recognised by so many MX riders as the best there ever was.

Motocross in the snow!

Well seeing “all” the snow we’ve been getting in the last days and Stuey’s video of him letting that 2t RIIIIP across his local field, I thought you guys might be interested in seeing how we roll up in Iceland :)

A few explanations cause I know you’re gonna wonder:

1. A bulldozer has been over the track to get most the snow off. What’s left on the track itself is hardpacked snow/ice.

2. The tyres used are studded/spiked tyres which are also used for Icecross on frozen lakes.

3. In the darkest wintertime in Iceland, sunlight might only last between 11:00 to 14:00 (yes 11AM to 2PM!) so if you want to ride at all during the winter, you’re gonna need lights. The main front is usually a very powerful (and big) Xenon hooked up to the bikes electrical system and then many of them also have strong helmet lights as you can see.

Check it out:

Sunday’s Training tips!

Well I thought I might start a bit of a theme on here and what better than riding tips? What I’ll do (and maybe some of the other lads too hint hint) is post a riding tip each Sunday.

These are obviously meant for those of us that are relatively new to the sport (so you can just skip reading these Stuey!).

So to kick this off, here’s a Honda Riding tip video. Leave a comment and let us know what you think of the idea, we don’t want to keep this going if nobody is using it.

Mad FMX tricks

Freestyle motocross is evolving real fast at the moment with new tricks surfacing at almost every major competition.

Here are a couple of cool videos to check out:

Swedish FMX Rider Fredrik Johansson putting down the first Flair at X-Fighters in Madrid. Interesting that he’s using a four stroke for that!

And here is Jim Dechamp going for the front flip at X Games 14! (sorry for the crap quality on this one, it was the best I could find).

Mike Alessi update

So Alessi’s crash apparently looked a lot nastier than it was. It’s a shame he got injured because at this point, Stewart has no competition for the title. The MX2 (Lites) is where all the action is at the moment.
I still can’t get over how lucky this guy is but there’s no need for words here, just check out these 2 videos.

Here’s a better video of the crash:

And here he is 4 days after the crash:

Mike Alessi – Luckiest man in motocross?

Mike Alessi crashed just after the start of the last moto at the 5th round of the AMA championship in Red Bud.
According to his website, Mike fractured both scapula’s, his rib, and bruised his lung and will be out of action until he is 100% fit to ride !

Looking at the video of this the guy is clearly lucky to be alive and walking. The footage is the type that makes you go DAMN! so if you’re recovering from an injury or racing this weekend you might want to save it until after the weekend!

You can check for any news of Mike on his website
