Last weekend saw the first race in the 2008 AMA championship.

Bubba Stewart showed the crowd how really really good he is when he stays on the bike by winning both motos in style. If he stays consistent through the upcoming races he will definitely be hard to beat!

In the “Lites” or MX2 as we know it, Austin Stroupe took the overall win with Ryan Villopoto breathing down his neck in 2nd place.

From the looks of things, the Lites is where the main action is, with several really strong riders fighting for the top positions. Sean Hamblin is one to watch but he got 7th overall this weekend. What separates Hamblin from the rest of the top 10 is that he is a privateer!

The first GP in the world championships was held last week in the Netherlands with some surprising results (if anything can be considered a surprise in our sport!).

Stefan Everts seems to be headed for big things as Race director with 3 out of the top 5 riders in MX2, 1 in MX1 and 1 in MX3 all on the KTM team! Maybe he’s looking for another 10 world titles?

Red Bull is hands down the coolest company and promoter of our sport out there!

Renthal have new unbreakable levers that are probably the “most unbreakable” I’ve seen so far:

Pro Taper show off the pillowtop grips and some new triple clamps:
(Is anyone out there using the pillowtops? I’ve heard good things about them)

Magura show and explain their hydraulic clutch system (for all bikes, definitely an interesting product if the price is right!) as well as their rear brake system:

Easton EXP launched their handlebars to the general market (Yamaha of Troy are riding with these bars!):

Shoei with another top of the range helmet:

Moose Racing also have unbreakable levers but they don’t look as advanced as the Renthals, those handlebars are interesting though:

Risk Racing have got some interesting stands and a neat practice start gate for those of us that are a bit more serious!:

There are a lot more over on VitalMX. Most of the videos I skipped were on gear, tires, exhausts, oils and goggles but you can head over there and check them out if you’re not totally fed up with the girls saying “Welcome to the show” at this point!
